Well, well, well. Mr Seaton - we meet again. lets start a discussion. do the club need to invest in better net facilities in order to progress and attract more players to the club? Discuss with reference to Stafford Cricket Club

  3. joe.mccormick Says:

    Hell0 all,
Yes the club certainly do have provide better net facilities as part of a bigger plan for development. But we need to raise money and profile. How do we do that?

  4. robjames69 Says:

    a few suggestions to consider;
we need special offers on drinks - something that you can’t get anywhere else. thats a good way of increasing appeal to members of the general public. ‘all doubles £2 on Friday’s’ or something of that sort. Also we should consider more local bands playing as there is an absence of this type of event in most of Stafford’s bars. Bands will normally want to promote themselves and will always bring their own fans down so should be a nice little earner.
    what do we think?

  5. joe.mccormick Says:

Some good ideas. We could have a local band night but we have to look at the terms of our licence.

  6. Guy Seaton Says:

Rob, i see you as “promoter exceptional” ! You could be a latter day Barry Hearn ! Don’t think the drinks thing will work unless you give em away for free…but a regular band night may be a good idea !

  7. Guy Seaton Says:

Ps, In terms of nets…we’d need to raise 15K to pay for a decent facility…unfortunately with other costs and debts we’re struggling

  8. robjames69 Says:

ok I’ll research the band idea - Do we have a permanent replacement for Amanda yet?

  9. Guy Seaton Says:

Yes, Michael Seaton is on a 3 month trial….if he does ok…then hopefully he’ll be permanent

  10. robjames69 Says:

Ok. well I’ve done some research and it seems that having a regular (weekly) night for showcasing local bands would be a success. How do we go about implementing it? what night would it be on? Thursdays?

  11. Guy Seaton Says:

I’m taking the email you sent me to management tonight…watch this space

  12. Guy Seaton Says:

To everyone : If you’re into your golf…We have firmly booked the first annual Stafford CC golf day to be played @ Stafford Castle Golf Club on Friday 15th May 2009
For more information please email guy@kre-8.com

  13. robjames69 Says:

What was the result of taking the email to management then?

  14. Guy Seaton Says:

Rob, apparantly in the past all music events have made a loss ! Therefore, the management were not too keen ! However, i have an open mind and if someone wants to take it on as a project, then i have no problem supporting it!

  15. Chris Emery Says:

I think what Rob means is that we offer local bands a place to perform. I presume we would not pay them so we could make a profit by letting them use our facilities. The only costs I can forsee would be doormen.

  16. robjames69 Says:

yes Chris indeed. we could offer emerging bands a place to perform who wouldn’t require paying. maybe that would work

  17. Guy Seaton Says:

Rob….i see you as the new Phil Spectre !!

  18. Ali Martin Says:

Scarey really Jamo ideas and everyfink!!!

  19. robjames69 Says:

one question about the above; who the f**k are man united?

  24. admin Says:

Man United relates to Manchester United Football Club. It is an English football club, based at Old Trafford in Trafford, Greater Manchester, and is one of the most popular football clubs in the world, with over 330 million supporters worldwide – almost 5% of the world’s population.

  25. robjames69 Says:

well thanks for that ‘admin’ - consider me enlightened after that! I’d never heard of em.

  26. Spooner Says:

Just a thought re: the club on Facebook, it may be worth creating a few events on there for club related stuff. I was going to stick one on for the beer festival but am not sure of all the facts, will consult Mr Fulton on this and add one. Re: band nights I do have a few contacts including promoters in Stafford so will have a word and see if they are interested in using the club, obviously will have to meet to discuss etc. but will get an initial thought or two from them.
