The Red, White & Blues Band, are mature people based in Stafford and Penkridge with a love of the classic blues artists. They play a variety of blues songs made famous by a very wide range of artists, B.B. King, Robert Johnson, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Dr Feelgood, Free and Bad Company to name just a few. They have a professional attitude which means they care not just about the music; they respect the venue and adapt to suit the audience. With their ever changing set list they can be sure to entertain and keep the audience involved.
Their line up is:-
Dave on lead vocals, rhythm, slide and lead guitar (an ever changing array of guitars)
Dave on bass and backing vocals (watch this guy as he dances through each evening)
Stephen on drums and backing vocals (two lightning hands that never leave his arms)
Stafford Cricket and Hockey Club have created a new website to promote the club and its facilities at Riverway in central Stafford. The club aims to forge stronger links with local businesses and improve access to sports for the local community, attracting many more new sporting and social members in 2010. Stafford Cricket and Hockey Club was formed in 1864, which almost certainly makes it the oldest sports club in Stafford. The club played at The Hough (Lichfield Road/GEC site) for 90 years until moving to Riverway in 1984. We currently own 11 acres at Riverway and we host numerous sports all year round - we have 2 cricket pitches in the summer and in the winter we host football, mini football, rugby and hockey.
In 1999 we were awarded a £200K lottery grant towards a new pavilion completed in 2000. The pavilion has 6 changing rooms and a lounge/function room for members and guests. The clubroom may also be hired for all kinds of functions and celebrations, as well as business meetings and charity events.
